Back Door Shadow

Seagull 4B

More back alley browsing in Groesbeck, TX.

I earned my Level 1 Soccer Dad merit badge on Saturday. Not only was it my day to bring the after game snacks (which instantly makes you the coolest person off the field) but I ended up co-coaching a game. Besides not using your hands, I don't know diddly-flip about the game.
So I had that going for me.
Worked out fine in that my son is five and this is the Soccer Chaos Theory League. I learned enough to get it going, had great help from the other coach and had a blast with those kids. And Nathan thought it was pretty cool too.
I definitely earned a newfound respect for all those involved. Literally hundreds of kids cycle through those fields hourly, and my son's regular coach was scheduled for two different games 500 yards and 15 minutes apart.
Hats off to those who wrangle that multi-tentacled beast on a day to day basis. If I didn't live an hour away I'd be able to ante up regularly but for now I'll settle for step-coach.
