let the hurricane season begin

boat superstore no more Houston, TX

Lots of talk on the airwaves today about the start of hurricane season. Just like Mondays, unavoidable.
We consider ourselves lucky to have gotten relatively little damage from Ike, and luckier still that repairs were completed by February. Ask around and you'll find people who are still waiting on insurance companies and repairs, some with more damage, some with less. Any way you slice it, no one wants another one. Occasionally you'll hear the misguided 'we're clear for 10 or more years now'. Personally I won't be hiding behind that one. I've never liked hurricane season in spite of the fascination that comes with watching doppler radars and NOAA weather maps and tracking a seemingly harmless little double-Nike icon across Gulf waters. Don't like it one bit. So I'll cross my fingers, toes and eyes and hope like hell we make it through this one with little to remark on.
